About Us
The roots of Bishop’s Alpha Phi goes back as far as 1986. At that time, we were a local sorority; Zeta Gamma. After Zeta Gamma's first year, it longed to be part of an international Greek letter organization and petitioned Alpha Phi Fraternity.
In Fall 1989, Zeta Gamma had been colonised as the next Alpha Phi chapter, Eta Chi. In a few short months, our chapter had our Installation Ceremony on November 25th, 1989. 58 collegiate women and 16 alumnae were initiated at Domaine Saint-Laurent in Compton, QC.
Eta Chi was the first international Greek letter organization to open on campus. We were the first Canadian chapter to be installed in 60 years, as well as the first and only chapter in Quebec until 2018.
Join Us
At Bishop's Alpha Phi, we recruit throughout the whole academic year. At the beginning of each semester, we hold formal recruitment events to get to know our potential new members. We are a chapter that values leadership, sisterhood, loyalty, character development, scholarship and service.
We would love for you to contact us and meet the members of Alpha Phi! We will help you learn more about our organization and the opportunities membership holds! Most of all, we would love to meet you and have you join our sisterhood of remarkable women.
The process to join is quite easy, it starts with you contacting us, or vice versa! We will set up a coffee date and inform you on all the possiblities that Alpha Phi can provide, as well as letting you know all the aspects of membership.
If you miss the formal recruitment period; don't worry! We would love if you would still reach out, because we would still love to meet with you and let you know about other events.
